A VR journey through the eyes of a baby sea turtle — from the egg, across the beach, and into the ocean.
When you're tiny,
the world is enormous.
Life of Tim is a virtual-reality game created by Leon Coertze during his Honours year at Yoobee College of Creative Innovation.
The player becomes a baby sea turtle and experiences the journey from emerging from the egg, travelling down the beach, and trying to reach the ocean.
The experience was designed to teach young people about the life cycle of sea turtles and raise awareness of the dangers they face.

Life of Tim deliberately changes the player's scale. Through Tim's viewpoint, ordinary elements of the beach become enormous obstacles.
The game was intended to give players a feeling of being small and vulnerable while communicating a bigger message about sea turtles and perseverance.
From student
to game developer.
Life of Tim came from Leon's four-year Yoobee journey, including a Bachelor of Animation followed by an Honours year dedicated to a substantial independent project.

Metaverse Mentored Internship
Selected by Yoobee for a 12-week internship with WIR Group in Jakarta, working around AR, VR and AI technology and the initial phase of Nusameta.
